Nokia E5: Better Messaging and Social Networking

Unveiling of Their New Mobile Phone

Just this April 2010, Nokia revealed three new mobile phones. One of which is the Nokia E5. The mobile phone is set to be released third quarter of this year. Head of Markets, Anssi Vanjoki, is very optimistic about their new mobile phone which takes only the best features of its predecessor such as E71 and E72.

The Features

This new mobile phone comes in dimensions of 115 x 58.9 x 12.8 mm. It weighs about 126 grams. It comes in a casing of either carbon black, chalk white, sky blue, copper brown and silver gray. The phone comes with a 2.4” TFT screen with resolution of 320 x 240 pixels. Just below the screen are navigation keys and a full QWERTY keypad for ease in typing texts.

For power management, the phone comes with Li-Ion 1200 mAh (BL-4D) battery. With this battery, the phone can last up to 696 hours standby and up to 18 hours and 30 minutes of talk time. The phones internal memory is only 256 MB. It, however, has a card slot for microSD that can go as large as 32 GB.

The phone runs the Symbian OS v9.3. It comes with 3G HSDPA with maximum speed up to 10.2 Mbps and HSUPA with maximum speed up to 2 Mbps, and WLAN WiFi for internet connectivity. It also comes with GPRS and EDGE. It also has Bluetooth and microUSB for connectivity with other devices and gadgets. Many phones with free gift deals are available when you buy online.

The phone supports a number of applications. For messaging, the phone comes with standard features such as Email, SMS, MMS, audio messaging and chat. It supports office applications such as converter, dictionary, quick office suite, Chinese dictionary, adobe pdf reader, notes and calculator.

What this phone really brags about is the OVI Store 1.6 that can let users install different applications into their phone. With this phone, users can stay connected to their friends and family through e-mail from popular mail services such as Yahoo Mail, Gmail and Windows Live Hotmail, as well as the Microsoft Exchange and IBM Lotus Notes Traveler. Users can also put contacts and updates from social networking sites together in just one place.
